ABOUT THE INITIATIVE
Built to Open Global Trade for Women.
The Connecting 1 Million Women in Trade initiative — C1WT — is one of the most significant international programs in NBCC’s portfolio. Operating across 102 countries, C1WT is designed to connect women entrepreneurs and business leaders to global trade infrastructure, international market access, and the institutional support that makes cross-border commerce possible.
NBCC serves as a Technical Support, Readiness & Certification Infrastructure Partner for C1WT — bringing its 30-year track record of trade engagement, its global chamber network, and its institutional relationships with international trade bodies to this work.
C1WT is not a networking program. It is a structured international initiative with real infrastructure — certifications, institutional partnerships, and connections to trade frameworks including AGOA, the Pan-American Accord, and bilateral trade relationships across Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
WHO THIS IS FOR
C1WT Is for Women Ready to Trade Globally.
If you are a woman entrepreneur or business leader with products, services, or capabilities that have international potential, C1WT was built to connect you to the global marketplace.
Women Entrepreneurs Pursuing International Markets
You have a business with international potential and need the infrastructure, connections, and institutional support to access global buyers, partners, and markets.
Business Leaders Seeking Global Trade Certification
International trade readiness requires more than knowledge — it requires recognized credentials and institutional standing. C1WT provides the certification infrastructure that opens doors across 102 countries.
Women Leaders in Trade-Adjacent Industries
Finance, logistics, policy, technology — trade touches every sector. C1WT connects women leaders across industries to the international trade ecosystem and the relationships that drive global commerce.
THE INITIATIVE
From Local to Global.
C1WT addresses the structural barriers that have historically limited women’s participation in international trade — not through awareness campaigns, but through certification, infrastructure, and institutional access.
The initiative provides a pathway into the global trade ecosystem: how to achieve international trade readiness certification, how to access bilateral trade relationships and cross-border market opportunities, how to navigate the institutional frameworks — AGOA, Pan-American Accord, bilateral MOUs — that govern international commerce, and how to build the relationships across 102 countries that make sustained global trade possible.
NBCC brings its full global infrastructure to C1WT — its international chamber affiliates, bilateral government relationships, and 30-year history of operating in global markets — connecting participants to a trade network that is already active and already working.
WHY NBCC
A Global Platform Behind Every Participant.
C1WT is embedded in NBCC’s broader global infrastructure — a national federation operating across 200+ chambers in 40+ states and 50+ countries, with active bilateral trade relationships across Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
As the Technical Support, Readiness & Certification Infrastructure Partner for C1WT, NBCC brings institutional standing and real trade relationships to every participant’s journey. When you engage with C1WT through NBCC, you are not entering a program in isolation — you are entering a global network with 30 years of trade engagement and the institutional credibility to back it.
For women in trade, NBCC’s role in C1WT means the door to 102 countries is not theoretical. It is open.
