Famous Amos® and the National Black Chamber of Commerce return with Ingredients for Success Entrepreneurs Initiative, a national pitch competition awarding three $50,000 grants to Black small business owners. Along with capital, winners will receive resources and tools provided by the NBCC to drive sustainable growth and success.

Supporting Black-owned businesses is an act of closing the wealth gap experienced by the Black community. We encourage all eligible to learn more about applying.

Finalist

Ten Finalist will receive access to existing signature programs & NBCC Membership resources. Finalist will be asked to submit a 500-minimum word summary explaining where the business has the greatest need and how the grant will fulfill that need – illustrating the implementation of the strategy.

A Message from Our Team

How the Program Works

Ingredients for Success is a grant and mentorship program awarding a total of $150,000 to three entrepreneurs ($50,000 each). Famous Amos is launching this initiative in honor of the brand’s founder Wally Amos to create pathways for Black business owners to thrive.

Application Process

The Ingredients for Success Initiative will support recently created businesses affected by the pandemic. Entries must be submitted by Monday, November 29th by 11:59 p.m. EST.

  • Must be in business for five years or less
  • Business must be at minimum 90% Black-owned
  • Must be headquartered in the United States (excluding Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and other Commonwealths, Territories, and Possessions)

The Judging Process

Ten finalists will be chosen to move to the 2nd round of judging, with the first round winners being announced in January. Judges include, Mandy Bowman, Steve Canal, Roby Mercharles and Jeffrey Beckham, Jr.

The Finalists

10 finalists across various categories compete for cash, mentorship and supportive business resources. The list of finalists will be published live on the site. Each finalist will be given the opportunity to participate in the final round of considerations. The three winners will take home a $50,000 grant each.

Ingredients for Success is a grant and mentorship program awarding $150,000 to three entrepreneurs ($50,000 each). Grant winners will also receive the necessary resources and tools provided by the National Black Chamber of Commerce to drives sustainable growth and success. The Famous Amos: Ingredients for Success Grant Grantee will receive a complete suite of mentoring and coaching resources. Winners will work personally with the executive leadership of both the NBCC and The American Dream Market Place to ensure the mental wellbeing of you as an entrepreneur, and that of your business.
